Back Again, Tell A Friend

I've spent the last few weeks looking over my various starts & stops of blogging. It started on LiveJournal back in 2001 or so, then shifted here to Blogger, and then I left for Wordpress, Medium, Squarespace, and now back again to here. However, this might end up being short lived. I'm not sure if I want to actually blog or not. I'm on Twitter (@TheMickMaher), where the random one off sentence and retweet is probably more my speed. However, I had a few random tweets tonight and figured I could expand here to see if it's something I actually want to do.

Nolan Ryan earned his first victory on this day in 1968, and won 323 more before retiring in 1993. He played so long, he struck out 7 players and their sons as well. His stats are something else, especially when you see how he led in the so many different categories. He was a beast unlike any other. I'm not sure we'll see another Nolan Ryan in our lifetime.

Game Of Thrones returned for the last season tonight. I've never seen an episode. Not for any reason other than I just haven't gotten into it yet. To give you some sense of how far behind I am on things, I'm on season 5 of Shameless(U.S.), and only started watching that about 3 months ago. I only really have time for 1 or 2 shows a day, and typically only 1 hour. Eventually I'll get to GOT, but it might be in a couple years when it's long over. The fan craze is kind of hilarious, though. Fans of the show can't comprehend the idea that someone hasn't watched it. I feel the same way about baseball.

Today I learned people put framed paintings of famous golf courses on their walls. Specific holes in some cases. I guess it'd be like putting a framed painting of a favorite ballpark.
